Broadcom claims first universal DVD chip – Blu-ray and HD-DVD

Consumer and communications chip supplier Broadcom Corp. Thurs. (Nov. 9) introduced what the company labeled the first single-chip solution to support both Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD standards.
